For those who quickly want to make a burger with a taste of Thai in 15
minutes, I slimmed down on Thai ingredients, yet you do need fresh Thai basil. For more authentic taste of Thai: replace the meat curry powder with green Thai curry paste, and if it is not available nearby you, make it yourself following the recipe at : http://www.theskinnycook.com/thai-fo...te-recipe.html INGREDIENTS for 1 burger * 5 1/4 ounce (150 gr) pork minced meat * 24 Thai Basil leaves * 1 clove garlic * 1 teaspoon of brown sugar * 1 teaspoon Thai fish sauce * 1 teaspoon lime juice * 1 teaspoon tomato ketchup * 1 teaspoon meat curry powder PREPARATION 1. Chop the Thai basil leaves fine. You should have at least 1 big teaspoon of chopped Thai basil for each burger you make. 2. Chop the garlic fine as well. 3. Add the chopped Thai basil, garlic, curry powder, Thai fish sauce, brown sugar, tomato ketchup and lime juice to the minced meat and with your hands, make sure the ingredients get divided in your meat. 4. Make a flat burger of about 3/4 inch (2 cm) 5. Put oil in a frying pan and fry until your Thai burger is ready. Myself I like the meat to be very dry, so I fried my burger 6 minutes on 1 side and 6 minutes on the other side on a low fire. 6. Serve with other Thai cooking dishes or if you are not in a cooking mood: serve with a Thai dip sauce. Fast and delicious cooking with The Skinny Cook at: http://www.theskinnycook.com |
