![]() I tried, and liked, several kinds of the "Mamasan" brand of curry pastes. I did notice that there WAS A drop-off in flavor by using the canned pastes over fresh ground, but often, time is at a premium so I use the pastes, but I sweat some onion and garlic first, then add the paste and coconut milk, some fresh cilantro and lime juice and the finished product is enjoyable. Does anyone have another brand they can recommend? - Slim |

If you go to http://www.thegoodlifegourmet.com/ there are a lot of curry
pastes. The canned brand they have is the same brand that my friend sells wholesale to 5 star restaurants around Boston, he says its the best one. I'm not much of a curry buff so I'll just take his word. Sorry, I dont remember the brand off hand and I'm too tired to go look at the site. -James "slim" > wrote in message ... > > > I tried, and liked, several kinds of the "Mamasan" brand of curry pastes. > > I did notice that there WAS A drop-off in flavor by using the canned pastes > over fresh ground, but often, time is at a premium so I use the pastes, > but I > sweat some onion and garlic first, then add the paste and coconut milk, some > fresh cilantro and lime juice and the finished product is enjoyable. > > Does anyone have another brand they can recommend? > > - Slim |
