Default Smetana used instead of sour cream

Where I live it's impossible to find sour cream. There is a similar russian
product called Smetana with 30% fat. Anybody knows as whether this can be
used instead of sour cream in baking? How much fat does american sour cream
contain? Thnx

I think it is 14% for regular and 7% for lite sour creme. wendy
