Hi -
I recently purchased fig cake with almonds and am afraid it is going to dry out before I am able to eat it all ![]() It is actually more like a bread and was wondering if it can be wrapped in cheesecloth that has been soaked in some type of liquid - like fruitcake? Any ideas - it is a bit expensive to waste. |

Yes. A brandy or rum-soaked cheesecloth would be nice. -- Wayne Boatwright ożo ____________________ BIOYA |

that's what I'd do. Cheesecloth soaked in brandy or maybe even cointreau?
Then wrapped in foil. wendy ----- Original Message ----- From: "SavvySurfer" > Newsgroups: rec.food.baking To: > Sent: Thursday, February 09, 2006 3:25 PM Subject: fig cake > Hi - > I recently purchased fig cake with almonds and am afraid it is going to dry > out before I am able to eat it all ![]() > > It is actually more like a bread and was wondering if it can be wrapped in > cheesecloth that has been soaked in some type of liquid - like fruitcake? > > Any ideas - it is a bit expensive to waste. > > > _______________________________________________ > Rec.food.baking mailing list > > http://www.otherwhen.com/mailman/lis...ec.food.baking > > To unsubscribe send a mail to and then reply to the confirmation request. > > > -- > Internal Virus Database is out-of-date. > Checked by AVG Free Edition. > Version: 7.1.362 / Virus Database: 267.14.25/247 - Release Date: 1/31/2006 > > |
