Default Pork ribs from Denmark. Any good?

My local Safeway has 10 lb. packages of frozen ribs from Denmark on
sale at 99 cents/lb. I looked at the package, there's no evidence that
they're 'enhanced' with any solution. I looked inside, and there were
2 full slabs and 3 pieces of about 3 ribs each.

Ignoring, for the moment, the fact that partial slabs just don't cut
it, has anyone else ever cooked these ribs from Denmark? Are they any
good?

My dad has bought them at kroger before, though the slabs seemed
to be smaller than what you are reporting. I never liked them though
they always had a somewhat off flavor that I could not describe but
did not like kind of a off taste you get when you cook something that
is freezer burned.

I decided not to try them. Really didn't want to take a chance when
Top Food had good looking spares for 2.49. Also, they make up the ten
lbs. after the 2 full slabs with bits and ends. Too much of a waste of
time for me to monitor those little pieces so closely.

You're right. It's been beautiful. I'm in Kirkland. I'll be firing up
the 22" Weber kettle in a little bit to cook 2 4 lb. slabs of fresh
spares.

Everybody needs to try those Danish ribs. Once. That's all it'll take. ;-)

I've heard that they feed the hogs fish meal. Not in itself a bad thing,
but it seems to give the ribs an "off" taste. I've not tried them since I
heard about the fish meal, but have also heard that the ribs do taste kind
oif fishy.

Just got back from Safeway. Store has marked the ex-date as
06/31/2007. A careful check of the box reveals "FROZEN 02/07".

Another joint will come. In the next couple of months, when the kitchen is
complete, you'll be able to call and order a boxed lunch or meat by the
pound.
