Dudes,
I don't often get to contribute to this group very often because I'm such a neophyte but dam if I haven't stumbled onto a great addition to the holiday table. Basic instructions are to cook the cranberries per package instructions and add a dozen or so tiny crushed chiltepin chilies into the sauce. The flavor of the chiltepin is uniquely spicy and the true native chili of the Americas. This little tasty chili is great on just about anything sweet including vanilla ice cream. If you like a little heat you will really enjoy these. If you try them on pizza you will never buy chili flakes again. Don't be confused by the chili pequin or pequin. The pequin is a pear shaped chili similar in size but does not have the complex flavor of the tepin. The Tepin is the round cranberry looking dried chili. You can find them on most Mexican spice racks. Enjoy, b |
