I am in hopes someone in this group can tell me where I might be able to buy
a outdoor natural gas grill at a reasonable price in Houston Texas? A number of years ago I bought a two burner Char-Broil, natural grill, from Home Depot but I found they do not sell the natural gas grills anymore due to safety factors. they said they had customers who tried to hook them up to propane. :-) Now when I bought my last grill it was around $200 & I have called around to the high end retail outlets and they want around $1000. -- Moe Jones http://www.MoeJones.info If you live in the Houston, TX area, come by the benefit: Benefit for Tina (04/12/08) http://www.hal-pc.org/~moejones/TinaBenefit.html |

OK, This might be a bit over the heads of some folks, but why not get the grill you want, and convert to NG? Just drill out the orifice to match the btu rating of the burner. info he http://www.komar.org/bbq/mm/convert/ |

I had a natural gas hook-up to the backyard of my new home. I happend upon the local gas company guy in the neighborhood. I asked him if he knew anyone that could set me up. He follows me back to my house and looks at it. He then says he would come by after work and help me set it up. We meet and go to the hardware store and buy the fittings and the hose. He brought along the drill to fix the orifice. I tried to pay him, but he didn't want to take my money. So I did the next best thing and found out he liked Jack Daniel's. I sent my wife to the store while we were working and she bought a big bottle of JD. He almost cried when I gave it to him. Later I had he and his wife over and grilled some nice steaks. We had JD as our cocktails, of course. Thanks for reminding me about this 20+ year old story. Mark |

We have a propane grill which will be converted this summer when natural gas lines are put into our neighbourhood. AFAIK it is just a matter of changing the jets. In fact, my kitchen stove came with the jets for natural gas and when it was hooked up, the only thing the technician had to do was change the jets to the correct ones for propane. We have the original jets which will be reinstalled at the changeover. BTW, I did a search on the Home Depot website and found prices varied for a natural gas bbq from just over $300 to $1800, about the same range as for propane. Also, a search for natural gas conversions brought up several sites. Personally, it's something we will leave to the professionals, but it doesn't seem to be a very big deal. HTHs MargW |

After looking around I discovered they had them for the same price as I found on Amazon & E-Bay. I bought a demo that came pre-assembled that I picked up and paid no shipping for. |

Costco has a BONZO cooker - it's been so popular that they reordered - unfortunately at $100 extra. But it has to be concerted Nat Gas or you will have to sell the Ferrari to pay for PG bills. Here in Dallas, Lone Star Gas now Atmos used to sell them. You might check with your NG provider and see if they do. |

I believe they are in Alvin. We paid $572.64, but I believe that included installation. It wasn't the cheapest or the best. There is an upscale store in League City by the name of Chim Chimneys. It's family owned and operated and they are absolutely wonderful people to deal with. We bought our Big Green Egg from them. Chris in Pearland, TX |

I found a place in Spring Texas, Cunningham, and was able to buy a new Char-Broil, 40,000 btu grill for around $101, including the tax. -- Moe Jones http://www.MoeJones.info If you live in the Houston, TX area, come by the benefit: Benefit for Tina (04/12/08) http://www.hal-pc.org/~moejones/TinaBenefit.html |
