Default Freezing Uncooked Butts?

I have certainly frozen picnic roasts, which as I understand it are
half of a pork shoulder as are "butts". They freeze fine. I just set
them on the counter overnight to thaw them. It isn't complicated.

The ones at your local supermarket may have been frozen already.

Never. It would have to say that on the label here in the U.S. And
I've never seen it in the 1000 butts I've fondled over the years.
