He's a purty good ol' shit anyhow. We might even have a drink or 13. Best of luck to you Buzzster. Ahem, Grand Champion. TFM® |

Sounds like a plan, but I heard rumors that Buzz'd don't make too many mistakes. '-) I've also heard that he can be "OK" and keeps a pretty well stocked bar at contests. > > Best of luck to you Buzzster. Ahem, Grand Champion. > Besides Buzz, I have 3 good friends that will be in Lynchburg that weekend. Bub-Ba-Q, Parrothead Smokers, and Eagle River Barbecue. I'm kinda wanting Eagle River to do exceptionally well (1st?) in brisket, cuz a couple of years ago, he cooked one lousy brisket (his words, not mine) and I gave him a few pointers. He started moving up his very next contest. Don't know (and don't care!) if Big Mike's using any of my "techniques" or not, but I like to believe it was me! ;-) Good luck to all y'all. BOB |

Now you > have even more reasons to visit Tn! > buzz > Bubba (Bill) owns a BBQ restaurant near Atlanta named...Bub-Ba-Q. He's currently 2nd in the TOTY rankings (behind Swamp Boys http://www.nationalbbqrankings.com/) in the FBA. http://www.flbbq.org/toty2008.htm Parrothead has a very short attention-span when it comes to smokers. ;-) If you know him, you already knew that. Eagle River Barbecue (Big Mike) is from O-Hi-O. This was his first year competing seriously. He's come down this way, sort of, a couple of times. Once to the "Stump-Fest" in Perry, Ga. Georgia *is* sort of down this way. If I go to Lynchburg, I might not get to go to "The Best of the Best" in Douglas Ga. where I'll be helping to defend "our" Reserve in the Open. Best of luck. |

If not see ya in Douglas. I'll definitely see you in Douglas. We won't be in the same place 'cuz we found some kind souls with a 40 foot motor home. The "Barbecue Crew" trailer and banner will still be flying. Stop by for a beer or three, especially if you have a Mason jar. ;-) BOB > -- > James A. "Big Jim" Whitten > > www.lazyq.com > |

The last trailer that I knew about was about half built with several Stump's on it...back to the drawing board, but afaik, still being built in Centerville, Ga. BOB |
