Just thought I would mention the grease fire in my Char-Griller Duo
last night. After all the talk of it recently it seemed funny it would happen to me now. Never had a grease fire like this where the walls of the smoker were ablaze. I had just bbq'd two butts and a couple three racks of ribs last Saturday. I generally let the lump burn itself out, but this time I closed her up and smothered it. Well I decided to do some bone in rib eyes. I remember thinking it would be good to grill'em hot and burn out the grease from the smoker side. Did that real well! The surprise was the rib eyes turned out great after using a welding glove and tending them constantly. For anyone who thinks grease fires aren't dangerous, wait till you see a big one it will change your mind quickly. My grill could burn to the ground and not be a threat to anything but the guy playing in it. Just saying careful where set up your grill. Joseph |
