My $140 WSM from Amazon came in on the 3rd. I unpacked it this morning
to find that all three body sections were badly distorted. The body is dented and the top and base are out of round. The porcelain is flaking off all three pieces. There is no hope of ever getting a working smoker out of those pieces. A call to Weber's customer service (which didn't sound like it was India) took care of everything. They are shipping all three replacement parts via Fed-Ex. I can expect them in seven to ten days. Thanks to Weber for taking care of UPS' problem Matthew |

Huh, I thought you had Weber do the replacing, not Amazon. I was under the impression that Weber wouldn't have made you send the damaged parts back. Now you won't have a chance to try a WSMx2 :-) -- Aloha, Nathan Lau San Jose, CA #include <std.disclaimer> |

I didn't want to wait two more weeks to find out what more might be wrong. The replacement from Amazon will be here on Wednesday, hopefully without the "custom by crunch" treatment by Fed-Ex. > Now you won't have a chance to try a WSMx2 :-) > The only thing between me and a WSMX2 is money:-) Matthew |

The boxes get tossed on conveyor belts, stuck in giant jams that get kicked apart and yes, lots of things are damaged. I was in the 2nd biggest airhub (philly) and we had a lot of damage and lots of people to repair it (badly). Its a shame, but you are better off shipping in smaller boxes...and heavily padded. Not a UPS or WSM problem.... I had a brand new KitchenAid mixer come in.
The bowl wouldn't raise as the pinion gear was broken. Having bought it through Amazon, I still called the service rep at KitchenAid. They shipped out a brand new one at NO cost. It arrived in 3-4 days which was no problem. A week later, I put the broken one in the same shipping box out on my porch and UPS picked it up. NO problems with the new one and I was happy as all heck with KitchenAid! |

I'm think more like a pallet at a time which would be handled differently. |
