Default BabyBack ribs hit $3.99/lb ...

.... at BJ's wholesale club. I stopped buying them when they went north
of $3.29. This is the cryovac, three racks at a time price.

Who the fsck is willing to pay more than $4/lb for BB ribs?

I see a lot more $1.79/lb spares and $0.59 chickens in my future.

That's about the price they are here too. Occasionally, they will have
a sale at 2.99/lb. and even as low as 1.99/lb. I try to get as many as
I can at either of these prices.

Please tell me you're talking about pre-cooked deli ribs.
I'm looking at well under $2 US for whole spares and more
like $1.49. You're scaring the S$%^ out of me.

We were talkin 'bout baby backs. When Im lucky I can get spares around
1,75/lb. Usually closer to 2.99 if I'm not willin to go on an expedition to
find cheaper.

Try Cash and Carry or Costco. They have both been around 3.99 lately.

I believe you are in Seattle, right?

My bad. I didn't catch the reference to Baby Backs. That price bounces all
over the place here. I don't usually buy them unless somebody drops the
price under $3.00. That's still too much for what you get. I have a pkg in
my
freezer as we speak that I got from Wynn Dixie for $2.98/Lb.

Past 2 months I've been getting entire spare ribs (in the freezer case) for
$1.69LB here in South Carolina. Been lucky with that price, but still
awaiting drop in packer cut brisket which are running about the same. The
frozen ribs have been good, cook up tender.

The Danish spares aren't worth $1.99 lb. I bought a 10 lb box of them
from Safeway, cooked a couple then threw the rest out. -RP

Not the ones I cooked. They're not the prettiest ribs I've seen; they
come in an odd assortment of shapes and sizes. With the first batch, I
thought I detected a faint aftertaste, sort of a whiff of ammonia, but
the two other people eating them said I was dreaming.

I heard (on Sunday) that many of the Winn Dixie stores in Florida had Baby Backs
for $5.99 per #, but it was buy one get *TWO* free, last Friday and Saturday.
That comes out to $2.00 per #.

I probably would have tried baby backs (for the first time ever) at that price.

Anything under $4 is generally a good deal here in Dallas. Sam's Club has
been running at $3.89 for quite a while now. I'm addicted to them and would
pay twice that if I had to, although if they cost $8 I'd be eating steak
more often. Hell, I bought some lobster tails the other day at $19/lb and
the price was but a memory once I was eating them.

You may not think BBs are worth more than $4 but plenty of shoppers
nationwide disagree. You're either spoiled, don't care too much for BBs or
both.

Did you maybe use that Greek brine recipe with the Windex in it?

Not at all. The local price for Swift cryovac raw baby back ribs has hit
$3.99/lb. This is at a big box warehouse retailer.

Fos,
Costco usually has baby backs for $3.99, and they're not too bad. Do you
buy from a butcher?

You have to watch the Wynn Dixie flyers. (We get one every wednesday)
They'll surprise you with two-fers and three-fers. Good buys if you have
the room to store it. My 23 ft chest is plum full. A lot of it is already
cooked.

I hear that Eddie. I cook for an army, but me and SWMBO eat like
girl scouts. We're in big trouble, storagewise.

I *usually* do watch them, but somehow I missed that one. A chest freezer is in
my future.

Have you tried their bon in country style ribs? I bought some for
about 1.40 and they were decent.
