I hear that someone has opened up a barbeque restaurant somewhere along Crowchild across from McMahon. Have you tried it out yet? |

Have you tried it out yet? I did. I told the Owneress that she had the best public BBQ joint in town. [She has the 'only' public BBQ joint in town.] Pretty thin eating so far, but they are trying hard. They are fine if you hadn't tried good BBQ. They are popular and I wish them luck. Harry |

All I have at the moment is a propane grill, which is fine for steaks, but not great for slow cooking. |

You can turn out some pretty good eats by using wood chips or chunks in a pie pan on one burner, with the meat set to the side over an unlighted burner. NOTE TO ONLOOKERS: Google has archived the many, many discussions about whether or not this technique yields BBQ. No need to resurrect it. -- Kevin S. It works alright, but I find that I can't do ribs or anything that would require slower cooking, as I can't keep the temperature low enough. Having lurked here, read the FAQ, and some of the archives, I know better than to call that BBQ. ;-) |
