Default Ribs and towels/cooler

So are people doing this to help tenderize the ribs
or is it purely for keeping them warm if you dont want
to serve right away?

Got a rack of spares and 5 chicken quarters about to
go on. Hopefully I wont have lack of heat problems
with the CBS this time.
