Default Offset manufacturers

Man I've been remiss, over the years I thought I'd saved all the links to
the various offset makers. If I did I can't find em now.

Anyway, am going to be upgrading soon. Who else besides Klose and Tejas
makes these things? I sorta remember some Oklahoma outfit and another
midwestern one. And boy would it be nice to save shipping and find one
closer.

Louis, you ever get the name of the place you thought you saw near
Hegenburger Rd. near the airport?

TIA,

Dale

Shit, look what I found 10 minutes after posting this

http://www.bbqjudge.com/webpages/bbqjc_pitbuilders.htm

It's a huge collection of manufacturers of all types. Like the looks of the
Lang too.

Talk to Big Jim when he's back in business before you decide, Dale. I've
seen his cookers and they're really well-built. If you don't want a Kamado,
that is <g>.

That's a good thought, bet he could make what I'm thinking of. Looking at
his website looks like he doesnt just make LazyQs.
Not in that big a rush either.

I thought real hard about a K, they grill and BBQ and that's what I'm
looking for, but they were more attractive to me when they were still just a
few hours drive away.

I've still not heard Matthew whoop with joy proclaiming the arrival of his
new toys.

As an aside, I was speaking with the UK importer for kamado (3000 bucks for
a K9!!) and asked him if they held any in stock. Nope, was his reply. They
are ordered from the US once they receive FULL payment. That makes 400 bucks
for a WSM seem like a better deal.

He declined to comment on an ETA (I shudder to even hazard a guess) or on
how many units (if any) had been sold in Europe.

Not yet. I've been contacted by the factory about shipping plans. Twice.
Don't worry. I'll post when I get a tracking number.

You really should ask him about a K5 vs a WSM since they both have about
the same grill size. I'd bet it would be above $1200, though.

He's smart enough to duck the question.

I've read posts from a few European buyers on the Kamado forum.

You know, shipping is sometimes lot cheaper than you might expect. If you
can get me dims and weight I can contact a friend with a Customs Broker
Freight company who will give me a good rate and get a quote to London. Oh,
origin point would be good to know too.
But anyway, M3 ( loose cargo) Ocean rates are pretty cheap to England.
Something could be picked up at the Port of Long Beach (Los Angeles), or any
port really, by the shipping company, railed to the eastern seaboard and
then on to London.
