Default Pepper Mill Battle

Since my pepper mill has no crank I had to figure out a way to
ascertain what constitutes one complete revolution. Viola! I
came up with this ingenious solution. The strap wrench was
located amongst my stash of emergency kitchen tools. It's
usually called upon to loosen those pesky jar lids that the vendor
glued to the glass. Having thus succeeded, I proceeded to
crank out ten turns of course ground pepper which neatly
filled a 1 teaspoon measure. You be the judge. I'd have to
say that there is no clear winner. Perhaps we can even locate
someone who actually gives a S^&%.

Alton Brown (www.altonbrown.com or www.foodtv.com) hooked his pepper
mill to a Black and Decker cordless drill and used it to blacken a five
pound piece of salmon.

You're definitely on the right track.

ROTFLMAO. Even I am not that extreme. I'd use my coffee grinder *** spice
grinder to get that much ground pepper.

The strap wrench accessory for a pepper mill! Ingenious, indeed!

I really like the cordless drill idea, there's nothing like having more
power. As far as the coffee grinder to grind the coffee, I know for
coffee if you grind too long, the blades get hot and have a negative
effect on coffee (although I'm not connoisseure enough to notice the
difference). Can pepper be affected by heat if grounded too long in a
coffee grinder?

I use a Starfrit pepper mill that is battery operated with 10 settings
from fine to corse. Works great!!!

That's a wussy idea. Cordless drill turn at about 1100 rpm. Now you take
that 3 hp router that spins at 22,000 rpm and you got a man size pepper mill

To increase the volume, you could hookup your router to an old fashion
crank coffee mill, same principle as a pepper mill, but a bigger auger.
