Sissies! Keepin it low for low n slow is a piece o cake when temps are down
like that. Shitfire it'll be near impossible to overheat the damn thing!
Now you want a challenge, try and keep it below 250 on a 100F day with the
cooker in the sun. My cookers starts out at 140F inside on those days. I
could cold smoke just with the residue off the walls!

Good on you both.

A good one. The word naive is also understood in French, I will post that at

BTW, Evian and Perrier are the sole French products that I boycott :-)

I know, I've seen it. It's really rather amazing and something that most
people will look at you wierd and almost say "you're lying" if you tell
'em about it. Really one of those "WOW" kind of things.

Plus 5 celcius (40 fahrenheit) in edmonton today
MY igloo is melting
but a nice barbeque seeems like a fine idea.
Of course the Alberta clipper will happen soon enough again.
Winter really is still here
Never tried the out door cooking at -40 celcius.
My knob might fall off.

Bad enough the cats launch off into another room if i open the balcony door
in minus 40 temperature.

You get what you give. Top-posting and full-quoting are both rude.
Lazy bozos who top-post and full-quote are saying quite clearly that
their time and convenience are more important than that of their
readers.

Not real clear on the concept of a killfile, are you? How would
killfiling you have any effect on what posts you see?

Or you have to be smart enough to figure out how to fix the problem,
rather than blame your tools.

Now what's your excuse for top-posting? What's your excuse for
full-quoting?

I'm not going to take this personally, other than to say that many, if not
most of the regulars here prefer top posting. We've had this discussion
innumberable times, taken votes and agreed that it's the courteous way to
write for Usenet. "Blow them off" at your own discretion, but you will be
thought the less of for doing so.

>They are beginning to get rude to you.

I was rude to dug88 in responding to one of his posts in the thread "
What are your best tips for producing the best barbecue steak?" after
reading what I consider to be poor top-posted advice. There's nothing wrong
with flipping a steak several times, steaks aren't "barbecued," and dug88
all but ignored genuinely good advice from both Ed and BOB when he
top-posted his response.

>Like old maid busy bodies, they don't have to read your posts if they are

so hung up on
> protocol. Keep posting anyway you want! Your posts are welcome.

Mike, I am surprised at you for saying something like this. Did you get up
on the wrong side of bed this morning? It's not just Kevin that complains
about top posters; go back into the archives (July 2003, Google for "Top
Posting") and you'll find that we as a group overwhelmingly voted for bottom
posting or interleaving. Voters for bottom posting included Dave Bugg,
Kevin, Michael, Rage 85, adm, TFM, BOB, Monroe, Miranda, Dave, Michael,
Fosco, Duwop, Jack Sloan, Jack Schidt, Ed P., Big Jim, Brick, frohe, Default
User and me. There were perhaps three who voted for top posting, including
the not-missed "miles." Apparently you weren't here for the vote.

At the end of your own post you remark that Usenet protocol suggests bottom
posting, so why would you tell a newbie to "Keep posting any way you want!"?
Is that going to help the guy get along here?

>Hopefully they will kill file me, I'm so sick of the petty crap that a tiny

Why would you want to be killfiled when you obviously want to be part of
this ng?

I trust all you folks noticed that the Noob's stuff came in all at
once and at that point the requests to not top post, likely had not
been received.

Anyhow, if past history is any proof, he will fall in with our
practice or atrophy away.

That's quite a reasoned, articulate, and thoughtful argument you've

in the extreme. Who could possible counter such lucid, rational
reasoning?

Obviously I'm on the same list. Top posting = bye bye. I also accept
private mails, which is again obvious as my address is not munged, until
the sender begins getting ridiculous and or rude. So dug88, that's why
your emails that you have been attempting to send be have either been
bounced or simply thrown into the bit bucket.

Hey, another member of the Kevin S. Wilson Fan Club!
How do you do it, Kevin? Obsession isn't an easy emotion to create.

He's got a million of them, no, wait, that's Jimmy Durante.

Obsession isn't an emotion. Hatred, now that is an emotion, but it
doesn't take much to generate that. Just being right is enough for some
people to hate you, um, Kevin (I meant).

Obsession is an uncontrolable urge. That's far harder to generate,
unless the generatee is an obsessive type.

In any case, is clearly a regular to these parts
and must really know what's going on.

NOT!!!

Now I see how you and your ass buddy work You somehow convince
yourselves that someone calling you an asshole turns them into an
obsessive stalker.

I suggest you drive around NewYork city for a while to really get that
ego stoked!

So you must enjoy a group that becomes nothing but a top post
flame(instead of actually just overlooking the mistake and answering an
on-topic post)

I think that the vociferous responses to dug88 were, in large measure,
due to a spate of top posting newbies who contributed little or nothing
other than to whine about being told that top posting in this ng is
considered rude. AFAIAC, if personal posting style is more important to
a poster than adapting to newsgroup norms and participating in on topic
discussions, then that poster gets what they deserve.

I do think that top posting newbies should be tolerated until they react
to gentle correction. Their reaction should dictate how they are treated.
