Default BGE lump

I found BGE lump in Springfield, Mo. today for $15.95/20# bag. That's about
what Cowboy costs, locally. Is the price good, bad or average?

Nick, yes I have, but their review is three years old and they paid $11.95
at that time. It is very hard to find anything but Cowboy in my area, so I
was happy to find BGE even if it is a little high priced.

Eighty cents a pound for lump is outrageous. Anything under 50¢/lb is decent.
Royal Oak for instance wholesales for 34¢/lb.

If you ever get upstate there is a town about 20 miles east of
Sedalia, Mo called Syracuse. That is the home of Chigger Creek
Charcoal. At last check they were selling 40# bags for less than
$14.00. They were also reviewed by Naked Whiz.

I had some Chigger Creek shipped to me a couple years ago. Good stuff,
but as always the shipping costs run the price up. It wasn't too bad
for me as I'm relatively nearby. I got a 20# box, which at the time was
$8.75, with shipping costs $8.25. The aggregate price of $17 was a bit
high, but I was interested in trying it.

I just noticed over the weekend that the local True Value (HandyMan in
Florissant MO) is stocking some lump from Missouri instead of the usual
Qik Joe. I was in a hurry and didn't have a chance to find out the
price, but plan to check this weekend.

The CC web site lists the 20# shipping box at $9.75 and the same size
bag at $8.50. So $20 a bag would be a hefty markup, depending on what
his shipping costs are.
