I'll be going to Commerce, Ga., which is North of Atlanta. Just off
I-85. Can anybody recommend any local Q joints in that area??? Actually any where along I-85 between Commerce and Greenville, SC! -- Regards, Piedmont The Practical Bar-B-Q'r at: http://web.infoave.net/~amwil/Index.htm What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy? If you were heading down from the northwest part of the state near to Ellijay, I'd suggest Poole's BBQ http://www.poolesbarbq.com/ -- Dave www.davebbq.com |

I googled up the following: Big Oak BBQ (706) 335-6247 1599 Ila Rd Commerce, GA 30530 Don't know anything about the joint, but it has to be better than the Sonny's thats across the street from the Outlet Mall :-) Now if'n you happen to get lost say around 72.3 miles NW of Commerce in a little town called Blairsville, GA and give me 10 or 12 hours notice on said lost-ige-ness, I can fire up the smoker and put a scald on a butt and some stew that might just tickle yer fancy. Keith > > If you were heading down from the northwest part of the state near to > Ellijay, I'd suggest Poole's BBQ > http://www.poolesbarbq.com/ Dave, I drive by that place twice a week on my way to/from the airport and have never had a chance to stop and sample the Colonel's wares.....gonna have to do it some day soon. > -- > Dave > www.davebbq.com > > |

A 6 hour? round trip, plus my wife wants to stop at the big ole garden center just off I85. Perhaps in the future though!, my wifes son lives in Atlanta and we go down once a year.
