Default Grolsch Amber Ale

Hello,
This weekend I Bought a 12-pack of Grolsch Beer.It contained 6 bottles of
Grolsch Premium Lager and 6 bottles of Grolsch Amber Ale. I live in
southeastern Wisconsin & I have not heard of Grolsch Amber Ale. Is this a
new product or is it just new to my area? TIA
John

Just new to your area. Grolsch amber has been around for years.

Don't believe it's an ale, though.

I grew up in southeastern Wisconsin and went to school
in south-central Wisconsin. I beleive it's neither a new
product nor new to the area (though it's possible it has
been unavailable for awhile).

They claim it is, and liken it to a gemran Altbier.

Well, I'll be damned. Got that one wrong.

Oddly enough, I've never bothered trying the stuff to see if the altbier
comparison is a valid one or not.

Grolsch Amber is classified as an "alt"...it used ale yeast but aged like a
lager.

Hello,
I'am from the Netherlands.

Grolsche Amber is already more than 15 years on the dutch market.

I don't know when they started to export is.
