Goldfish in beer

Yesterday I read somewhere on the internet the quote "...someone with
an attention span similar to that of a goldfish in a pint of beer".

Now me and my colleagues wonder: how long would a goldfish last in
standard glass of lager? Our guesses range from 5 minutes to several
days. Does anyone have a good answer, so we don't have to try it out
in the pub?

I would assume not long, unless it's in the wonderful world of webcomics.

Hi Wartburgboy

I hit the wrong reply button-I apologize for sending an email directly to
you.

If you have ever had a pet dog or cat or maybe even a horse that you
loved passionately as a child, then think of the Goldfish as one of those
creatures and do not make them suffer as such. A Goldfish will swim into
your hands while in its tank or you both in his or her tank and stay with
you as that dog or cat would. They can do more flips than a dog or cat.
They live very long lives and will learn everything possible about you, if
you give them the chance. And, feeding them is not the reason they seek
your company because they will eat most anything. They will hear your
footsteps and come swimming hard and fast, even with full stomachs. They
will compete for your attention vigorously.
I have 2000 gallon tanks here that I get into with them, for maintenance
and fun. They are true pets beyond belief. I started raising them as a
project for my children but I turned out to be the biggest child of them
all. As a younger man, I never would've felt the way I do now about such
things and deer hunting is one of the things I have left to others, from the
past. I guess life changes us all.

Thanks........
Trouble is, there are ass holes that do this kind of thing.

Did you see the news report a couple of years or so ago about the "art
display", I think it was in New York or some such?

Guy put up 6 blender aquariums, each with a goldfish, and the observers
had the option of turning the blender on. :-P After a couple of days,
the museum disconnected the power due to pureed goldfish.

<sigh>
