Does anyone know where I can get the "king" of beers, Westvleteren 12.
I have looked all over Pittsburgh, but they run out so damn fast!

Well, there's this little monestary over in Belgium, and if you go up to the
right window on the right day ...

Westvleteren is notoriously difficult to find. It's not even all that easy
in Belgium (but a hell of a lot easier than in the States, of course). The
monks only release the beer a couple days a week, and technically speaking
people aren't supposed to resell it. Best bet, if it is found in your local
area periodically, is to make friends with your shop's beer buyer and ask
him to give you a shout when it comes in.

Otherwise, you'll probably need to start exploring mail-order solutions.
www.belgianshop.com is a Belgian-based business that'll ship. But you have
to order a good amount, and shipping is not cheap. Some of the other larger
American specialty shops might also have it in stock from time to time.

sales outside of the monastery and its cafe 'in de vrede' is illegal. i
just went there beginning of May......woohoo everything was already
sold out until august but the cafe still sells the 6 packs. got some
stuff from the monk and the receipts reads at the top in bold text in
dutchie 'not for further sale!'. see some of my photos of the heavenly
brew here http://veldhoven-nl.fotopic.net/c564710.html
