Thanks to some out-of-the blue change in flight schedules, I will have to
spend 3 instead of 2 hours fiddling my thumbs on Chicago O'Hare airport in
April. Is there somewhere a pub on the transit grounds servings something
besides BCM-Heineken garbage? If so, can you give me an more or less precise
idea where to search for it?
Also, can somebody tell me what to do between normal evening hours and
05.00AM, when I have to appear on the Seattle International Airport? (plane
leaving 07.10...)

There's a Goose Island at the front of Terminal 2 (airside, though, so
you'll need to walk from the other terminals and/or have your boarding
pass).

Berghoff serves an OK beer in Terminal 1.

Sorry, I got a bit itchy with the "send" finger.

So, presumably you'll be arriving at Terminal 5, the international terminal?
Which airline are you flying domestically? The distance between the
terminals can be walkable, but it can be a long walk (well, walking to/from
T5 is going to be a *really* long walk, as it's not connected). Terminals
1-3 are connected, but it can be a hike from one to the other. There's a
tram on the grounds, but I don't know how tight they are anymore about
letting you go through security in T2 if you're on an airline that's flying
out of T1, for instance.

But Goose is your best bet, and fortunately it's just past security, so you
don't have to wander too deep into the terminal. And it's not too bad a walk
to T1.

Arriving FROM Seattle, actually, and going TO the International Airport, and
having to spend 3 hours. Even with security, that's a long wait. Would they
really make a fuss about where I waited?

Depending on which airline and class of ticket, you may some other
options. I just passed through O'Hare on the way back from Tokyo on
Friday. I was on United with a Business Class seat which gave me
admittance to the Red Carpet Club. They had Goose Island in the lounge
at Terminal 1. Any Star Alliance partner (Lufthansa, etc) an the right
ticket should get you in.

Last time I was at O'Hare there was pub with Goose Island in Terminal 3 near
where the J and K concourses fork (American airlines territory). I am
very, very happy to say, though, that this was like 6 years ago, and I have
been able to avoid ORD by flying regular-sized jets via DTW and MSP on NW
every since!
