Milk chocolate pudding
I posted this a few years ago with no luck, so I thought I'd try again.
One thing I have determined is that she used vanilla extract in a lot more recipes than I realized. I think that might contribute to a smoother tasting pudding but it still wouldn't "lighten" up the color. Appreciate any thoughts. Here's my original posting. I'm looking for a recipe for milk chocolate pudding/milk chocolate pie filling. When my Mom was alive she always made a pudding that was lighter than typical in color. I believe she used the same pudding for filling her chocolate cream pies. My recollection was that she used a Royal pudding mix that was labeled Milk Chocolate, and she added Carnation milk to it. My younger sister who spent the most amount of time trying to glean her recipes, and has been the most successful in coming close to Mom's great baking, hasn't been able to come up with the pie filling mix. I've google searched the groups, but can't find anything regarding a milk or light chocolate filling. In addition I have searched every grocery store in the area, and haven't found any milk chocolate mixes. Does anyone have some clues for me to try to match Mom's mix? Thanks in advance for any help. |
