You should switch to dark chocolate with a high percentage
of cocoa solids like 60-70%. I can get by with 2/3 of an oz
per day and couple of tablespoons of cocoa each with a heaping
teaspoon of sugar and mixed with hot water and less than an oz of
milk on the worst day.

If I allow myself this much chocolate and cocoa I find
much less need to overdose myself on sugary sweets such
as you describe.

chocolate-covered caramels?

Caremel delights are cookies. They have coconut and chocolate drizzle.
My favorite chocolate is white chocolate!! I LOVE the stuff!!!
