Default what is the best gas grill to buy

I have had a Weber gas grill for 7 years now and it is time to buy a
new grill. Does anyone know what would be the best grill to buy ?

Depends on what features you want. The Signature Series from Vermont
Castings (not the big store versions) Napoleon, MHP are some of the best.

If you have a Home Depot near you, have a look at the Blue Ember by
Fiesta. It's a mid-sized grill, three 15,000 BTU burners and got a
Comsumer's Digest "Best Buy" rating.

I've had mine about a week now and I really like it.

Cheers,
Bruce.

Why is it time to replace your Weber gas grill? I had one for 14
years, and the only reason I replaced it was because it got blown off
the deck by high winds and mangled. These things last forever if you
maintain them properly.

I'm kind of with you. I've had my Gen. B for about 10 years
or so. Sits outside uncovered all year in upstate New York.
Still looks and works like new.

Now, if you just have an "itch" that's a different story. ;-)

Is that right? My grill (now a green Gen. B, 3 years old; the other
was a red Gen. A Jr. with the now-defunct cedar shelves, RIP) and I
reside in western NY, but I will admit that in winters, I move my baby
into the garage and pull her out when I want to grill. I just don't
want to shovel snow off of her to cook, ya know? Love these grills;
they're at the right value price point, although I do know some of
these other incredible grills out there give wonderful service.

True. If that's the case, where do you live, bhamm4254? I'll take
your old one off your hands!

Yup, here's a pic from two years ago and I can take one
right now if you'd like. Looks exactly the same and works
great.

That said, I use mine in the winter if there's not 3' of
snow. But from western NY you probably get considerably more
snow than we do here in Poughkeepsie.

Nice set up... I didn't think that they made the Weber with the plastic side
shelves 10 years ago. I have a Red one bought in '98, it has the light grey
wooden shelves. Sometimes I wish that I had the plastic,'cause the shelves
get grubby looking.

The flavor bars have been replaced ('04) it looks like the cast iron grids
will need replacing soon... I understand the itch to get something new, but
it will probably only be a new cover. The Weber covers last a Long time too!

We grill year round, even in the snow, except when the cover gets so frozen
that we can't get it off... and that's always a disappointment.

A Weber Genesis E320. Wish I'd bought one instead of the Charmglow I have.

I wouldn't buy any grill right now. The infrared grill is about to hit the
market in a reasonable price range. I heared Weber is about ready to come
out with one. At Lowe's you can get a Charbroil TEC infrared grill for about
$1,000. TEC, or Thermal Engineering Corp., apparently developed IR and owns
the patent. I have had a Weber Genesis B for 15 years; while it doesn't get
hot enough, neither does any other gas grill without the IR technology. At
least that's what I think. I haven't seen any road tests. They do heat to a
higher temp.
Good Luck,
Kent
BTW, if you invest in porcelain coated cast iron grates for your Weber
you'll think you have a new grill for only $50 instead of $1K. As well it
helps to replace the flavorizer bars.
