I thought it might do a nice job slicing brisket. Does anyone have
one; or used it for that?

I was a bit suspicious of this. You might check this out:

If you want a electric knife, go to a local thrift store and spend a few
dollars for one.

I can't get the above web site to even respond with anything, server not
responding. But hunting around, I found the following web site about
the knife:

http://www.infomercialscams.com/scam...ade_complaints

Of the reviews that actually touch on the knife, the knife was not well
liked, although a couple people really liked it. But there are a slew
of complaints of fraudulent marketing and billing practices.

And $130 plus $40 s&h ($170 Tt) for an electric knife is not worth it
for how much you'll auctually use it. I have to second a previous
poster in going to a thrift store or garage sale and buying one used for
under $8 (and I have seen them as cheap as $1). I use mine only on
turkeys, but it really helps with those birds. All other carving is
well handled by my really sharp knives.

Thanks JT.

I also saw the scam page, and decided against it. Probably comes form
China and worth about 10.00

Was able to find it for 60.00 delivered though. (The 140.oo was for
2, plus all the crap you'll never use like their garlic peeler rubber
thing, and this cheap plastic tupperware-like stuff, blah blah blah.)

A cordless for slicing brisket at cookoffs is in the cards.
Tablecraft has a web presence for one. Little pricey at 74.00

I tend to separate spareribs with an electric knife, purchased at a
thrift shop. Thrift shops can be a very good source for cooking
equipment if you keep your eyes open.

Now, that sounds like a good use of an electric knife. What kind of
cookoffs, BTW? BBQ?

I have my parents Hamilton-Beach which must date from the early 70s. Works
great and is dynamite also on ribs, quarerting chickens and also worked well
on the whole beef tenderloin I grilled two nights ago.

Yes, to bbq cookoffs. Appearance is part of the total score, and a
nice clean cut looks better than any shreds or hanging chads.

You can even get one brand-new from a place like Target or Wal-Mart for ten
bucks or so. Mine wore out after about 20 years of use, so I got a Black and
Decker from one of those stores a couple of years ago for I think $12 or so.
Probably paid too much, but still, $12 for a knife that I'll use another ten
years or so? Not bad.

I only use it for slicing roasts like brisket, and turkey, anyway. Just
yesterday I sliced up two briskets, and it's still working just fine.
