Default restoring teflon coatings on frypans

Anyone used this service?

http://www.frypanman.com/

They seem to be associated with the Continental Coating Corp. which is
a respected operation. Doesn't appear to be a garage shop.

This is a service that has been needed for a LONG time. I'm not aware
of anyone else that does it. But they seem to be saying that the piece
would be entirely coated, which makes it sound like a dip job rather
than a spray job. I'm not sure I want my frypan teflon coated on the
burner side. Probably should give 'em a call.

Let us know what they say. If they do dip, from what I (as a machinist)
know of the metalurgy process, I would say that it would last longer, as
they claim. But yes, I would have a difficult time being comfortable
putting a flame directly to exterior teflon. That exterior could not
hold up to that much immediate heat.

And they are using Dupont's current chemistry of Teflon, so long term
carcinogens couple be a concern.

I doubt it is a dipping, but full coating adds little cost and saves a lot
of money in masking. The usual process is to remove the old coat, clean,
and then apply a primer and one or more finish coats, baking between coats.
The prices seem reasonable and well worth doing for a good pan.
