Default Breadman (or generic bread machine) Question

Sometimes I want to add things to the bread that should go in when the
machine beeps. However, since I am upstairs and the machine downstairs I
can't hear it. Does anyone know roughly how long before the end of
kneading this should be done?

Thanks.

Jerry, if your machine came with a manual, the timelines should be in
there. If you have no manual; the manufacturer (or its website)
should have the timelines for you. I juss betcha', they've got an 800
number.

Or, you could do the baking upstairs. It'll make the place smell real
nice.

Find out from your manual, and set a timer, preferably one tied around your
neck. My machine has basic, sweet, french, etc. settings. It's possible
that there is a different beep for each setting on your machine, so you will
have to consult your manual for each setting, and memorize it for
convenience.

I just remember that my 'basic' setting for adding is at 37 minutes. But
frankly, even though it says not to add some things like nuts before hand or
it will scar the coating on the machine, I don't pay strict attention to it.
If I'm in the room anytime before the 37 minute beep, I add if I want to.

Thanks for being a good samaritan - for taking the time to find this and
send it.
In genealogy, you would be called a "genealogy angel."
