I am looking for any information on an old Hobart meat slicer.
The plate says Spec 3441 (I am guessing this is model# equivalent) Speed 1450 HP 1.6 3.9 amp any help I can get on its age? can I get parts? what is it worth? |

That might be a UK model as, judging from the speed, HP, and amps it just might be 220 volts 50 Hertz. |

I am in Canada.
The nameplate listed the voltage as 115 so I am guessing not a UK model. |

Thats what I thought. But I don't know enough about the equipment to be sure. I took the info off the plate myself.
I was told it was WWII era so I suppose it is entirely possible it was a UK model brought over and rewired for 115 but why would they change the plate? Thanks for you help though! Quote:

The plate seems consistent with 220 VAC, 50 Hz. operation. Isn't that the UK standard? |

that is the UK standard but the machine runs on 115volts and that is what the name plate says. Not sure where to go from here.
I have been in contact with Hobart Canada and so far they are stumped too. Quote:

It is even off some for a 50 hz motor. But it could be a AC/DC type motor which is the most common type. And maybe they are lying about the HP. How large is the motor, physically. A real 1.6 HP motor is quite big. The current totally doesn't add up. |

That's a good thought. How much power do you need to run a slicer after all? It's not like a 20 qt. mixer. del |
