Default All Clad aluminum and ss pan

I just got an email from Cutlery & More. (I recommend them.)
http://www.cutleryandmore.com/detail...U=1986&src=mem
" 2-qt. Sauce Pan with Lid
by All-Clad, Master-Chef 2" $105 - sale $78.95

and in the blurb about the pan, it starts of with

"All-Clad MC2 is the contemporary iteration of the legendary Master
Chef-All-Clad's original cookware collection."

Definition of iteration at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iteration

As I try to see more about this product, I see that it
"features a brushed aluminum exterior with a stainless steel interior for
exemplary heat distribution."

I was looking at this because I need another small pan/pot in stainless
steel - seems the two smaller sizes I have is just not enough for me.

I got the same ad in my email. I have bee buying from Cutlery and More
for several years. I was sorely tempted, but I held out. <g>

Please report back on the pan after you get it.

BTW, I have the set of 4 French paring knives that comes free with the
pots. They aren't bad little knives.

A different pot:
I'll probably order this (but not instead of the above pan) tomorrow if I
get a chance.
http://www.cooking.com/products/shprodde.asp?SKU=649777

But I'll be buying it at Costco online -- same price -- but if I need to
return it, I can just take it to the store.

Although I have a Chantal soup pot that I feel is almost identical in size,
I've had it a few years. This new piece says it is made in Germany; and
since the one I have leaves me to wonder if it is made in Germany, I'll give
it a chance, as the last two I've had, DH has left it on the stove to ruin.
You might call this a spare!

They have a whole lot of these type of pots at either Ross, Kohl or TJ Max -
I'm not sure which -- but almost everyone of them have a serious flaw.

Enjoy the holiday weekend.

Marshalls has them, too. I've even seen Le Crueset there. Don't remember
seeing any serious flaws. I usually hunt around Marshalls for the odd
pot to add to my collection.

You, too, Dee Dee. I'm gonna smoke some ribs on my bullet smoker.
Inviting our friends up the street who are always interested in sampling
whatever I'm experimenting on. <g>

I don't know what use you have in mind for this pot, but...

IMO, the MC2 line is the best buy out there. It provides the identical
performance to the All Clad LTD (dark anodized) at a much lower price, and the
performance of either is far superior to All Clad stainless.

I've dumped almost all of my All Clad stainless now, but the 2-qt. like this (I
have the anodized because I bought it for my MIL some years ago, then inherited
it after she passed away last year) is possibly the most frequently used pot I
own. For making rice, holding broth for risotto, and similar tasks in cooking
for two, it's the perfect pot for use on your small burner(s).
