Default Hey Wayne --

Wayne, just asking - how are you liking the Kirkland set of pots/pans that
you purchased a few months ago. Are they working out for you?

Yes, Dee, I love the entire set. They both cook and clean beautifully and
have a nice balance when handling them. I like them even better than my
earlier set of Bella Cuisine. Thanks for asking...

I'm pondering a couple of new 2 qt pans, and I find that after looking at
any quality 2 qt. pans, I'm talking some money as compared to a whole set of
Kirkland's, which I know are great pans, even though it definitely is not
frugal. However, I have owned no All-Clad's.

I started researching reviews on your set a little and found a
'disgrunted?' owner that said they were not 18/10 or 10/18 stainless steel.
I had saved the Costco online page for the previous ones made in Italy which
I purchased, and it did say 18/10; however for the ones now, they do NOT say
anywhere on the site that they are 18/10 stainless.

Did you save any of your literature where it might say that yours is 18/10.

I have written an email to Costco asking about this; but they are slow in
answering. Onlne, it just says "two layers of stainless steel."

I'm soo glad you are satisfied with your set.

As it happens, Dee, I did keep the information that came with the set of
cookware. While it does not say specifically that the stainless steel is
18/10, my experience with other pieces that I know for a fact were 18/10
would lead me to believe that this is, as well.

What it does say is that each pan is constructed of stainless steel with a
5-ply base that has two layers of stainless steel, two layers of aluminum,
and a copper core. It also states that it is induction ready and NSF
International Compliant.

The base is impact-bonded, and is the thickest bonded base I've seen on
cookware. It conducts heat very evenly and because of its mass allows for
a lower heat setting.

The handles on the pan and lids are handcrafted and hand-polished stainless
steel and riveted with stainless steel rivets.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for all your information. (I think that I'm the only person in the
world that scans every piece of paper that I use to file, and I really get
irked at myself for something I've missed. I remember the days when I went
rifling through filing cabinets of paper.)

BTW, these pans are still on the Costco website at $199, plus $10, I
believe, for s&h. I'm thinking they are still at my Costco for $189. If
so, they're (probably) mine.

Stay cool,
Dee Dee

For me it depends on what it is. Some things I scan, some things I file.

I don't think you'd regret the purchase. I've never owned All-Clad either,
but I'm also not overly impressed with it considering the price.

It's only 93°F today, Dee, which is a lot cooler than last week 's multiple
days of 105°F +.

I should have added that the exteriors are polished to a beautiful luster
and the interiors have a brushed finish. I routinely wash these pieces in
the dishwasher and they come out spotless.

I can't imagine anyone being disgruntled about purchasing this set, and I
don't think Costco misrepresented anything. I doubt you'd find this
quality in any other set for this price.
