Well, I finally made the choice. Hope it's a good one.
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...l.com/y9x47nwI do have a very-old Presto which is heavy and has a heavy bottom, which Ihave used off and on over the years in spite of it being so uneven on thebottomthat it will never sit even on a burner. It was caused shortly afterfirst use when putting water on it to cool it down. Actually I hate theidea of cooling off a metal pot in this way, and it goes against all logicto me.I'm hoping I don't have to pour water over this one to cool it down, but asI want it for making rajma (red kidney beans), I don't think I'll bewater-cooling the new one, but letting it sit to cool. I hope I won't betempted. Here is Manjula's recipe for it. I don't know what pressure cooker she isusing, though.http://technorati.com/videos/youtube...9cdRmD1cLoving rajma,Dee Dee |

I have the Fagor Duo, which is similar, and have never used a better pressure cooker. Best of all, the bases are compatible with my new induction hob, which my copperware is *not*. You will find the construction to be up to your expectations, I believe. Enjoy them and worry not. Alex |
