Default Tongs for non-stick pan...?

Howdy,

I am looking for a source for tongs that can safely be used with
non-stick pans. I would think that this would be a popular item, but I
can't seem to locate any such...

Might you know a source?

Sincere thanks,

I have a set of Calphalon plastic tongs. Hope that helps. I bought them
something like 6 years ago, so I'm not sure what they cost.

Where do you live? In the area where I live (New Jersey), you can find
what you want in any cookwares store and even in department stores
and some supermarkets.

If you use tongs properly, they pick up the food and have no (or very
little ) contact with the pan. Never saw the need for anything special.

OXO makes locking tongs with nylon heads in 9" and 12" sizes. I have
both but I mostly use the 9". I got mine from Amazon.

Some people use them to stir food in the pans.

Hi Ed,

I think that the operative word is "you."

I have little trouble making certain that my metal tongs don't nick
the surface of the pan. Other folks, not so.

All the best,

Where's that Blasphemy thread when you need it? :-)

For the OP, when I have a situation which would call for tongs in a nonstick
pan, I usually use chopsticks. (Not much help, I know, since you
specifically asked for tongs.)

Try the bamboo tongs sold in Asian markets. We have two pairs of
differing lengths; work well for most things.

We carry, and I personally use, the Cuisipro non-stick tongs. They're
available in two sizes and are perfect for non-stick pans.
