I am interested in upgrading our home coffee situation. We currently
have a coffee grinder and I am interested in upgrading to a burr grinder. Any thoughts on what model to get? I was thinking Capresso Infinity or, if I go manual, a Zassenhaus. I think that DH will want electric though. I am also somewhat interested in home roasting. An online friend kind of got me interested and I was wondering what your thoughts are on the FreshRoast versus the Zach and Dani model. Thanks! -- jmk in NC |

At home we make one pot (8-10 "cups") per day during the week and two on weekends. Generally speaking, I'd say we average 8 pots per week (after taking into consideration that we may be out one evening, etc.) > What type of area do you intend to roast in? Indoor or outdoor? Kitchen probably. Garage would also be a possibility. > Don't overlook the I-Roast. It seems that a lot of folks have been having problems with that model -- or maybe that is an earlier version? > > There is a group, alt.coffee, where this sort of thing is discussed > and a website, coffeegeeks.com. I am aware of that and have checked into it but I would also like to use this group as a ressource. Thanks! -- jmk in NC |
