Default Washable wire wisk?

I just got a new Artisan 5-qt KA mixer. Beautiful machine! But it
says not to wash the wire whip in the dishwash. I'm wondering why not?
It's solid metal and must be stainless. Anyone know why they would
say this? Thanks.

I put the whisk from my KA mixer in the dishwasher - have for years. It
looks like new. I think manufacturers put the "no dishwasher" clause into
their instructions as a CYA measure. When something does go wrong, the
first thing they will ask is "did you put it in the dishwasher?"

Some are not stainless. I usually put mine back on the machine and add
soap and water to the bowl, let it run a bit and and rinse. Works well.

I have a KA mixer that I got in 1984. I have put my wire whip in the
dishwasher. It hasn't been hurt yet. I have no idea what it's made of.
It's not something I use all the often. I use the dough hook and the other
beater far more often.
