Anyone have experience with the mid-range gas grills?
Specifically, I'm looking for opinions on the Weber Summit (Gold) versus Barbeque Galore's Turbo Select. Any information or opinions would be greatly appreciated. -Randy |

I've replaced the grates and the flavour bars a couple of times, but otherwise it just keeps on going, producing excellent results. Look at brands like Vermont Castings (not the Home Depot models, see their web page) MHP, Broil King, Broil Master, Ellipse, and a few others in the $600 to $1200 range. I chose a Vermont Castings VC-200 because it had all the features I wanted. My second choice was MHP (Modern Home Products). I thought both of these had an edge on the Weber. |

I'm on my second Weber Genesis; the first (a Genesis Jr.) died after 14 years of service only because it got blown off the deck, and the grill housing was mangled. The second is a Silver B, with a bigger cooking surface, and I love it. |

Friends of my "better half" were having a party at work and needed grills. I said, "sure, use ours". I wasn't home when they came to get it with a small Toyota pickup with a cap on it. So they needed to lay it down to get it into the back. In the process the lid flopped open toward the ground and the cast iron hinges snapped due to weight. They called Weber, told them exactly what had happened and asked about getting a replacement lid for me. Not only didn't Weber charge them/me for the new lid but they sent a service rep. to the house to install it! I was amazed. -- Steve Life should *not* be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, worn out and screaming, "WHOO HOOOOO, what a ride!" |

I bought one after having a Weber Genesis for 7 yrs. The Turbo began rusting within 8 months, and after 1 1/2 yrs, two legs were completely rusted out. Cheaply made, but premium prices. Rex |
