I am looking for a one pint white enameled double boiler. These were
utterly commonplace a few decades back but seem to have completely disappeared. Nothing on eBay or Google or Amazon. Anybody have any ideas? |

I have a Pyrex one I use all the time. It is very handy. Boron |

Pyrex DBs don't come pint size and they break.
I can't believe that such a useful little piece of equipment has vanished from the market. If the concept weren't so basic I would assume some kind of legal dispute -- some kind of intellectual property or liability thing. But that can't be. Where is the free market when you need it? |

Pint sized is quite small, so small, in fact, that one would be tempted to place a metal bowl over hot water in a larger pot for basic cooking. Craft use would be something else. I'd say there is just little demand for the product and it is not around for that reason. You might be able to find a bain marie in the size you want and it will serve your purpose. Most of these are not classics, but might help. http://search.ebay.com/bain-marie_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8 Boron |
