You might the drawer type refrigerators and freezers.

In my apartment, I have a Whirlpool "Princess Line" refrigerator. It's
about 10 cubic feet and is narrower and shorter than a standard
refrigerator. I don't know if this line is still made - my fridge is
probably 10 years old or more.

If you like to cook, a small refrigerator is really a pain to deal with.
The small size of the freezer is the worst part - I ended up buying a
free standing freezer (which I put in my living room) because the tiny
freezer was so restrictive - even for a single person.
