Default Gas Grills

Is there any design advantages on how the burners are arranged on the
smaller gas grills? The Webers seem to to the only ones with the burners
running side to side perpendicular to the grates while every other one makes
has their burners running front to back.

Seems to me, the Webers would have more burner length per square inch of
main cooking, while the others may better better at indirct cooking because
there is less bunrer coverage?

Weber had been a proven winner for years with their design, but other brands
are just as good with the dual setup. What matters most is heat distribution
and the burner design is only a part of that. Lava rocks, briquettes and
flavor bars handle the rest.

Check out some of the good brands at your local outdoor center or propane
dealer. Other good brands to consider are Vermont Castings, MHP (Modern
Home Products), Broilmaster, Broil King and I'm sure a few others.
