Howdy,

I certainly don't claim to be an expert, but...

For the last ten years or so, I have been using skillets with a
coating called "Ceramiguard."

Here is a link:

The release properties are remarkable, and the pans seem to last until
some friend helps out in the kitchen and decides to grind a fork into
the surface of the pans...

No, non stick coatings don't "leak" into food. The ones I use myself,
though, are Berndes Signocast. I like them because they are non stick
inside and outside and the design provides for even cooking with a
relatively light weight for the performance. I've been using them for about
6 years now and have no reason to switch. Take care.

I've been very happy with QVC's "cook's essentials" pans. I sometimes
use metal utensils in my pans (some things just need a fork) and they're
still in good shape. My All Clad nonstick hasn't been nearly as
durable. (However, the cook's essentials pans seem to change
periodically - I don't know if the pans I have are still being sold,
they seem to sell a variety of types under the same name.)

Me too. I don't hesitate at all to use metal in 'em. I've had the set
for about three years and no problems.

Karen,

Did you complain to the All-Clad people? So far I haven't had any trouble,
but you never know. Supposedly a lifetime warranty on All-Clad.

Hardly non-stick. Cast Iron is what we have here - both a griddle and a pan.
