Default Miele versus Dacor Ovens

Help! I can't get any peace. I told my wife that she could have a "gourmet
kitchen". But she keeps asking me these questions regarding kitchen
appliances. No only don't I know the answers and I don't really care. I
just want to go back to reading my books and listening to my music. If one
of you IS knowledgeable in this area, please help me out.

Just so you know her taste, she has decided on a Blue Star range, sub-zero
refrigerator, and a Miele dishwasher. The next appliance is the electric
wall over. She is presently anguishing (annoying me) over the pros and cons
of the Dacor and the Miele ovens.

If I get a good and lively debate going I will consider turning this into a
new reality tv show. So do your best.

Default Miele versus Dacor Ovens

My wife and I are having the same dilemma, though we have almost decided
on the electric Dacor Millennium double oven. We haven't looked much at
the Miele ovens. We are pretty much decided on the new Dacor drop in
cooktop, with the 18,000 BTU burner that will with a second jet go down
to 500 BTU. We are tossed between the Bosch and the Miele Dishwashers.
We are deciding on the Monogram built in wall refrigerator rather than
the subZero. Why are built in refrigerators so much more than counter
depth free standing models? You can get a very nice looking 24" deep
Kitchen Aid or a GE profile for under $2500. The coomparable built in is
over 4K. Have you looked into Internet appliance purchases? A dacor
cooktop can be had with shipping for 15% or so less than the local
vendor.
Obviously we don't know what to do. Few have the chance to long term
cook on two brands.
Good Luck
Kent

Hi, your wife, if she's at all interested in looking into Internet
forums, will find good company at Gardenweb. The link for the
appliance forum is

http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/appl

She'll find me there as Stefoodie, I just finished a comparison chart
on electric wall ovens she might be interested in seeing
(http://www.filipinogourmet.com/ovens.html -- haven't updated in a
week or so, but plan to do so sometime soon). FYI I'm also planning
to get a Blue Star range, a Miele dishwasher and a Miele oven (subject
to change as long as the remodel hasn't started LOL:-) -- there are
BUNCHES of people there who are going to be as kitchen-obsessed as she
seems to be -- check out the kitchens forum also

http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/kitchbath

Be forewarned, there is A LOT of information there, and she/you may
experience information overload, AND you might find yourself
increasing any kitchen budget you have tremendously, just because
you/she will discover many other things you can get excited about
putting in your new kitchen. Good luck!
