Sir, it appears you are a good one to ask:
Can you recommend a 12" steel roughly comparable in quality to the F. Dick,
but that costs less? I know, that's probably asking a lot.

I seem to have lost my chef's knife (don't ask), and I find I can't live
without
one after having had it for 15 years.

Think I'll buy a F. Dick 10" knife, and I figured I probably should have a
steel to go with a nice new knife. But I'm choking a little on the price of
both together.
