Will appreciate info on magnetic induction cooktops for home use. Also,
duel fuel ranges.

The bottom line is that there aren't many choices in induction equipment for
homes. It would be my choice next time around if a satisfactory unit is
available.

Dual fuel is pretty straight-forward. You get gas burners and an electric
oven. The devil is in the details. What is the BTU rating of the burners?
What are the grates like? What is the burner design? How hard is it to
clean the range top? Is the oven true convection or just fan assisted? Is
there an exposed or hidden bake element? And above all, what is the repair
rating of the actual range you buy and what is the manufacture's customer
service like? Remember, virtually all ranges come with electronic controls.
These controllers seem to fail frequently leaving you with a $300+ repair
bill. Look for a good repair record and a decent warranty.

There's been quite a bit of discussion of induction cooktops
on the Gardenweb appliance forum at
