I'm talking about the grills that have heating elements on both top
and bottom. Has anyone tried both and have an opinion about the relative merits of the two? Here's my take, with the limited information I have: HB has removable grills, convenient for dishwashing. Foreman is reputed to be working on this, but it's not in market yet. I think Foreman opens wider for thicker steaks. I've heard that the HB top grill doesn't brown as well as the Foreman. I haven't found that to be so. The HB has a timer, convenient. Some models of the Foreman may also have a timer, but not the one I tried. The HB opens flat in case you occasionally need more grill space and are willing to sacrifice cooking time. I'd appreciate any other comments. |

Sounds like I may need to get an HB. ;-) I got a small, barely used Foreman grill from someone on A.FS for only $15.00 with the shipping. Got it 2 days ago and am thrilled with the fast cooking time and results! Awesome. :-) Saves electricity too. My big stove burns a lot and the grill is better and faster than a microwave. I'm leaving it out now as I'll probably be using it every day. I like the idea tho' of removable surfaces and this does not have that. Thanks for the heads up! We just bought one as a gift for our son, which also has a thermostat and a 30-minute timer. Frankly, I can't think of anything that would need grilling for 30 minutes, and others have said that when the time is up the unit still doesn't cut off. I don't know. You can't remove the grids, but I find the unit very easy to clean. When finished cooking, unplug the unit right away and lay a couple of water-soaked paper towels on the grill and close the lid. The crud will be soft enough to clean off when you're ready to do the kitchen-cleanup. Dora |

It reduces fat too. I've also cooked boneless skinless breast tenders in it. 2 minutes max. I've not yet tried fish in it, but plan to. Please, don't knock this handy dandy time saver until you've given it a shot. :-) It only has to heat up for about 5 minutes. I wait 'till the light goes off before using it. It works well for burgers and chicken. We haven't tried fish, either. Dawn |

Have only ever used the George Foreman but we were always happy with
it. Does not give a grill taste though so just keep that in mind. |
