What Features to Look for in a Deep Fryer?
I've decided to buy an electric deep fryer and, never having done any
deep frying before, I'm wondering what features are most important. Thanks. |

What Features to Look for in a Deep Fryer?
I recently threw out my old Presto deep fryer after 25+ years and bought
a Euro Pro 5 liter deep fryer for $100. I used it three times, packed it up and took it back. It uses a huge amount of expensive peanut oil. It only heated to 325F even though the gauge said 375F. It didn't make good fries because of that. I went back and bought a Presto kitchen kettle for $20 at Walmart. It uses oil efficiently, heats up to the right temp, and makes great fries. The whole cast aluminum fryer goes into the dishwasher, heating element and all for cleaning. Hope his helps, Kent Ellie C wrote: > > I've decided to buy an electric deep fryer and, never having done any > deep frying before, I'm wondering what features are most important. > > Thanks. |

When I was ready to retire my old Presto, I looked at the expensive fryers and in addition to not liking the temperatures, they looked impossible to clean. I bought a newer Presto. The old one still worked, but the high temps and cleanings had taken a toll on its surface. |
