Default Slide-in gas range with best oven capacity

Hi,
My wife and I are searching for a new gas range as part of our kitchen
remodelling project. Mrs. Pidassle has fallen in love with the look of
the professional ranges. She just wants something with the industrial

look; stainless steel, no back, no digital read outs, large black
knobs. Continuous grates are also high on the list, but we're getting
desperate. We realize that we are purchasing ornamental appeal and have

reconciled the extra cost as a one time event.

We recently cancelled our order for a 30" DCS gas range when we were
warned by a friend that she couldn't cook a turkey in her 48" unit.
Upon further review, DCS, Wolf, etc. as well as the next tier of
slide-ins all have ovens that are much smaller than our old GE gas
range. (approx 24Wx20Hx19D) We even looked at the 36" models and they
provided a wider, not taller oven.

My wife is normally very frugal and rarely treats herself and was
looking at this as a treat, so I would really like to find something
that she likes. So far, the tallest oven I found for a slide-in type
oven is the Jenn-Air, which lists for just over 17". Does anyone have
any suggestions on brands/alternatives that would get us the look and
an oven that can hold a large roast? It seems as if we faced with the
choice between a free standing unit and going with a wall oven.

Thanks,
Stu

You also need to take into account whther the oven has an exposed or hidden
element. Exposed elements chew up some of that claimed vertical space.

it has to be a slide in range not a cooktop and wall oven/ The fisher
&Paykel wall oven is huge. I own one and have in installed below a
cooktop. Love it.
