Default Looking for another sweetening alternative?

I found this article about agave syrup today.

I haven't done a ton of research on it, but it seems interesting. It's
made from the same plant where tequila comes from... and tastes similar
to honey. The thing is it's very low GI. Table sugar has a GI of 68...
Honey 55 and Agave Syrup 15.

That's all I know... now you're on your own!

I haven't tried it as syrup but it's delightful (and still low-GI)
when it's been fermented, distilled and aged properly. =

If you want to get some. Amazon.com has a 46 ounce jug of it for $12.50.
Seems like a good deal. It would be nice to find an alternative to splenda
for baking.
