Default Looking for another sweetening alternative?

I found this article about agave syrup today.

I haven't done a ton of research on it, but it seems interesting. It's
made from the same plant where tequila comes from... and tastes similar
to honey. The thing is it's very low GI. Table sugar has a GI of 68...
Honey 55 and Agave Syrup 15.
