Right now you might be wise to cut as many carbs out as you can to get your numbers down. But you may find eventually you'll have to add *some* carbs back in. For some of us, eating too few carbs has the opposite effect of what we want. And we have higher BG. There is usually no need to take things to extremes. |

The things you should be interested in are the ones that are low - those are nutrients you are missing. Add some non-starchy veges and those numbers change dramatically. The table probably won't post correctly, but I think the trend will be clear. Calories 235.74__cal 12% Protein 23.96__gm 44% RDA Total Fat 13.95__gm 21% Sat. Fat 5.37__gm 27% Mono. Be very careful of jerky!
Most all i can find in store is packed with high fructose corn syrup and other sugars. Best tip as a new diabetic is read the labels and be choosey about what goes in yer body. I eat pork rinds as a snack but my main meals are from slads and chicken breast and real meats and veggies. Yse your meter to tell u what foods u can and cant eat and use good portion control and your meals will be "yum" everyday. I just discovered a new treat. Peanut butter and sauerkraut
sandwiches. MMMMMmmm good. No really. Honest. They go well together. If you can't have bread try it on crackers. 73 Gary On Fri, 18 May 2007 11:56:56 -0400, "Frisbee®" > wrote: >My first lunch as a newly diagnosed diabetic. > >Yum. > Gary Pewitt N9ZSV Sturgeon's Law "Ninety percent of everything is crap" |
