Default Failure and success

FBG yesterday was 74 @ 4 PM. I had breakfast at midnight this morning. BG
65. Had Chinese cabbage, shrimp, fishcakes and (uh oh) a slice of buttered
pumpernickel. One hour PP BG 125. Two hour 161. Three hour 197! Four hour
150. Bedtime.

Tonight was better. BG 79. Had a bowl of Mexican beef soup with salsa. One
hour PP BG 116. Two hour 105.

Quite possibly it was your internal clock to blame seeing you ate at
midnight. What was in the fishcakes? In Oz it would be potato.

The filler or binder in the fishcakes is more likely to be
the culprit than the pumpernickel. Were they home-made or
purchased?

Thanks, Ozgirl. With the hours I keep, midnight is the middle of the day.
No potatoes in Thai fishcakes. Just green beans, ground catfish, Thai
chiles, onion, garlic, mint leaves and coriander sprigs. Nope. It was that
thick slice of delicous pumpernickel. Damn it!

Hmmm. Purchased. There's no filler or binder in the ones Jun makes. ;-/

In that case there's a high chance of both cornstarch and
HFCS.

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Do you eat 3 meals, Nick? I was wondering yesterday if what you do
might be better called intermittent fasting, with a short eating
window every day?

Thanks, mate. I'll warn my honey about what she buys for me and will be
more careful of what purchased foods I eat.

Cheers!

The latter, Nicky. Sometimes I'll have a bedtime snack, but I'm gunshy of
having to stay up an extra few hours to do hourly tests. ;-(

Interesting. I guess you get most of your calories from the alcohol,
which will confound any theory - but I'd love to know what once-a-day
eating does to IR! (But I'm too interested in food to try it
myself...)
